July 3rd in Las Vegas is often more intense than July 4th — the pre-holiday night brings the largest crowd of any evening except New Year's Eve, and many events start on the 3rd to spread the load across the weekend.

What Happens on July 3rd

  • Many dayclubs and nightclubs have their biggest headliner on the 3rd rather than the 4th
  • Pool parties are at maximum capacity from noon onwards
  • Restaurants are fully booked — if you don't have a reservation, plan for food hall or takeout
  • The fireworks preview shows begin at some properties
  • Hotel rates on the 3rd are often higher than the 4th

Position Yourself

By the afternoon of July 3rd, position yourself near where you want to be at midnight. Attempting to move across the Strip by Uber between 9pm and 2am on July 3rd or 4th will result in 30–60 minute Uber waits and surge pricing. Walk to your destination or stay at a hotel near your target venue.

Confirm current hours, prices, access, age rules, and availability with the official venue before you go.
