Nightclubs are one way to spend a Las Vegas evening. For everyone else, here's the complete guide to the city's genuinely excellent non-club nightlife.

The Las Vegas nightclub image — velvet ropes, $500 bottle service, EDM at 130dB — represents maybe 20% of what the city offers after dark. The other 80% is genuinely excellent and more accessible. Here's the guide.

The Best Non-Club Options

  • Piano bars — The Cosmopolitan's Chandelier Bar has exceptional live piano. Several other Strip hotels have intimate piano lounge settings.
  • Casino sports bars — The sportsbooks are entertainment spaces unto themselves, serving drinks until dawn, showing every game.
  • Comedy Cellar midnight show — Better than most clubs and you can actually hear people speak.
  • Late-night dining — Monta Ramen at midnight is more genuinely Las Vegas than XS nightclub.
  • The poker room — The Venetian's poker room at 2am is its own social ecosystem.

The Arts District After Dark

  • Velveteen Rabbit — Craft cocktail bar, excellent music, nobody needs to shout
  • The Griffin — Dark bar with a fireplace and actually conversation-compatible noise levels
  • Atomic Liquors — Historic, authentic, cheap drinks
  • Commonwealth — Three-floor Victorian bar with a secret rooftop
