Las Vegas with a dog is a more realistic proposition than the casino environment suggests. Several major properties accept pets, and the surrounding landscape is dog-accessible in the right seasons.

Pet-Friendly Hotels

  • The Palazzo at the Venetian — Accepts pets up to 75 lbs with deposit. One of the best pet-friendly luxury options.
  • Vdara Hotel — Pet-friendly with fees. The all-suite format makes pet stays more comfortable.
  • Various off-Strip hotels — Many independently owned hotels near the convention center accept pets at lower fees.

The Heat Warning

Las Vegas in summer is dangerous for dogs. Pavement temperatures exceeding 150°F will burn paw pads in seconds. In July and August: dogs cannot walk on any outdoor surface between 9am and 8pm. Plan for early morning and late evening walks only. Carry water and test pavement temperature with your bare hand before allowing your dog to walk on it.

Pet Activities and Services

  • Dog daycare services — Multiple providers near the Strip
  • In-room pet sitting through hotel concierge
  • Red Rock Canyon (morning only, summer) — Dogs on leash on scenic drive
  • Spring Valley dog parks — For off-leash exercise
