Las Vegas has a surprising and growing art scene — concentrated in the 18b Arts District but extending throughout the valley in the form of large-format murals, independent galleries, and a creative community that exists entirely outside the casino economy.
The Mural Circuit
The stretch of Casino Center Boulevard from Charleston to Colorado Avenue has one of the best collections of large-format murals in the American West. Artists including Shepard Fairey, Roy Nachum, and dozens of local creators have produced works that span entire building facades. The route is walkable in 45–60 minutes.
Galleries Worth Visiting
- Traction Gallery — Contemporary art in a converted warehouse. The most ambitious program in Las Vegas.
- Donna Beam Gallery at UNLV — University gallery with rotating shows of regional and national significance.
- Dust Gallery — Photography and new media focus. Strong programming.
- First Friday venues — Gallery openings throughout the Arts District on the first Friday of each month.
CityCenter Art Collection
The CityCenter development (ARIA, Vdara, Crystals, Park MGM) incorporated one of the largest public art programs ever commissioned — works by Maya Lin, Henry Moore, Jenny Holzer, Claes Oldenburg, and others dispersed throughout the property. Free to view, extraordinary quality.
