Downtown Las Vegas is a 15-minute Uber from the Strip and a completely different world — historic casinos, the Fremont Street Experience LED canopy, the Arts District murals, and the most interesting emerging bar scene in the American West.

The Route (3–4 hours)

Start at the Fremont Street Experience — the 1,500-foot LED canopy that stretches from Main Street to 4th Street. Walk the length under the canopy, visiting Binion's (the most historically significant casino in Las Vegas), the Golden Nugget, and the Four Queens.

The Mob Museum (Allow 2 hours)

The National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement occupies the former federal courthouse where the Kefauver Committee hearings were held in 1950. The exhibits are exceptionally well-produced and genuinely fascinating for both history enthusiasts and casual visitors.

Fremont East

Walking east on Fremont Street past 6th Street brings you to Fremont East — a strip of independent bars, restaurants, and entertainment venues with a genuine neighborhood energy. The Griffin, Atomic Liquors, Le Thai, and the Downtown Cocktail Room are all within a block of each other.

The Arts District

Continue south on 6th Street or via an Uber to the 18b Arts District. The murals on Casino Center Blvd and Colorado Ave are the best street art collection in Nevada. PublicUs for coffee or food. If it's First Friday, you're in luck.

Confirm current hours, prices, access, age rules, and availability with the official venue before you go.
