The Mob Museum: Las Vegas's Most Underrated Attraction

The National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement is the best museum in Las Vegas and one of the most compelling American history museums anywhere. Here's the full guide.

The Mob Museum opened in 2012 in the former federal courthouse where the Kefauver Committee hearings on organized crime were held in 1950. That theatrical irony sets the tone — this is a history museum that understands its own story.

What's Inside

  • The courtroom where the Kefauver hearings were held — preserved as it was in 1950
  • The St. Valentine's Day Massacre wall — the actual brick wall from the Chicago garage, with bullet holes
  • Extensive FBI/law enforcement artifacts including surveillance equipment and case files
  • Interactive exhibits including polygraph machines and crime scene reconstruction tools
  • The Speakeasy in the basement — a functional 1920s-style bar serving Prohibition-era cocktails

How to Visit

The museum is at 300 Stewart Avenue, Downtown. Hours: 10am–8pm daily. Tickets: $30 adults, $20 children. Allow 2–3 hours for a thorough visit. The audio guide is genuinely good — rent it.

Confirm current hours, prices, access, age rules, and availability with the official venue before you go.
