Henderson is the second-largest city in Nevada and Las Vegas's most livable suburb — a 15-minute drive from the Strip that has developed a genuine restaurant scene, outdoor amenities, and neighborhood character that residents prefer over the Strip's constant stimulation.

The Water Street District

Henderson's historic Water Street district has been significantly redeveloped with independent restaurants, bars, and shops. The Henderson Farmers Market (seasonal), craft cocktail bars, and the Henderson Events Plaza make it one of the most walkable districts in the Las Vegas area.

Outdoor Activities

  • Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area — Petroglyphs, trails, and desert solitude. One of the best lesser-known outdoor areas near Las Vegas.
  • River Mountains Loop Trail — 35-mile paved trail circling Lake Mead, passes through Henderson. Excellent cycling.
  • Lake Las Vegas — Artificial lake with resort hotels, restaurants, and water activities.

Best Restaurants

  • Hachi Japanese Cuisine — Modern Japanese that would be a destination restaurant in any major American city.
  • Grape Street Café — Neighborhood restaurant with an excellent wine program.
  • The Tasting Room at Platinum Hotel — Contemporary American cooking, frequently overlooked.
