Pool Season Decoded: Which Las Vegas Dayclub Is Actually Right for You?

Las Vegas has 80+ pools — and they are not all the same. From the hedonistic Encore Beach Club to the family-friendly Mandalay Bay wave pool, here's how to pick the right one.

Read the full guide

Pool season in Las Vegas runs from March through October, and during that window the city's 80+ pools become a parallel universe of day parties, DJ sets, cabanas, and sun-blasted excess. The terminology alone can be confusing — pool, dayclub, adult pool, hotel pool — so here's a complete breakdown.

First: Understanding the Categories

Hotel Pools (Free with room)

Every major Las Vegas hotel has a pool complex available to guests at no extra charge. These range from quiet and tasteful (Four Seasons, Wynn's adult pool) to vast family-friendly complexes (Mandalay Bay's wave pool and lazy river is genuinely excellent). These are for relaxing, not raging.

Dayclubs (Ticketed events)

Dayclubs are concerts that happen to take place at a pool. They feature name DJs, elaborate staging, bottle service, and cover charges of $30–$120+. Encore Beach Club, Drai's, Marquee, TAO Beach, and Wet Republic are the major players. These are party experiences, not relaxation experiences.

The Top Dayclubs, Ranked Honestly

Encore Beach Club — Best Overall

The Wynn/Encore's outdoor dayclub is consistently ranked among the best in the world, and for good reason. The production values are extraordinary — the pool deck holds 3,500 people with a main stage that has hosted every major EDM name. Cover: $30–$100+ depending on headliner. Cabanas start at $1,500.

Drai's Beachclub — Best Views, Best Hip-Hop

Drai's sits on the roof of the Cromwell directly on the Strip, giving it the best views of any dayclub in Las Vegas. While Encore favors EDM, Drai's books hip-hop and R&B acts and has a slightly older, more mixed crowd. The Strip view from the pool deck at 4pm is spectacular.

Wet Republic (MGM Grand) — Best Value

MGM Grand's Wet Republic is the best value in Vegas dayclubs. Lower cover charges than Encore or Drai's, with still-excellent production values and headliner bookings. The 'Temptation Sundays' format is an institution. Cover: $20–$50.

Marquee Dayclub — Best for Groups

The Cosmopolitan's Marquee Dayclub has the best layout for groups — multiple pool levels, a bungalow section, and the famous 'Bungalow' VIP experience. The Cosmo's central Strip location means you're never far from a hotel room or a restaurant if the party wears thin.

Hotel Pools Worth Knowing About

  • Mandalay Bay — 11-acre complex with a real wave pool and lazy river. Best family pool in Vegas.
  • Wynn Adult Pool — Serene, beautiful, and actually quiet. For when you want to lie in the sun without a DJ.
  • Caesars Garden of the Gods — Seven pools across an Olympian landscape. Impressive scope.
  • Vdara Rooftop — One of the few pools with a genuine view of the Strip without the dayclub chaos.
  • Golden Nugget Downtown — Has an actual shark tank in the middle of the pool. Worth seeing once.

What Nobody Tells You

Dayclub tickets are significantly cheaper if purchased in advance online. Walk-up cover at the door runs 30–50% higher. If you're planning to bottle service, know that the minimum spend for a good table at Encore on a Saturday is typically $1,500–$2,500.

Month-by-Month

  • March–April: Warm, not hot. Pools open. Best shoulder-season window.
  • May–June: Pool season in full swing. Hot but manageable. Book ahead.
  • July–August: Extreme heat but maximum energy. The biggest events happen now.
  • September–October: Temperatures drop. Dayclubs wind down. Pool season ends quietly.
